Adrianna Holcek tames Paula Mingot in Women’s Singles battle at XXI Pan Am Junior 2012 Team Event
Canada’s Adrianna Holcek showed a stunning performance on court when she crushed Paula Mingot of Argentine in Women’s Singles battle at the XXI Pan Am Junior 2012 Team Event in Canada, on Sunday, July 22.
The aggressive Adrianna, who was in smashing form on court, showed absolutely wonderful performance as she faced no trouble in punishing her opponent without facing even a meagre resistance.
Adriana proved too strong for Paula as she was in staggering form and did not spare any chance for her rival to put up strong show and eventually won the battle with a one-sided score on the board.
Paula, on the other hand, was shocked with the punishment she got from her Canadian opponent. She could not play her normal badminton and was also no match to her in-form local rival and bowed down to her in straight sets with a humiliating margin.
In the first game, Adriana played aggressive badminton and live up to expectations of her home fans by remaining in commanding position.
The aggressive Adriana easily took an early lead against Paula without facing any trouble and maintained it until the mid-game interval.
After the break, Adriana continued her roller-coaster run on court as she did not lose her focus and also made her rival work extremely hart to return the well placed shots.
The perfectly played drop shots and accurate smashes of Adriana helped her to take the opening game in a stunning fashion with a huge 21-4 score on the board.
In the following game, Paula increased her speed to take the bird early but failed to make it happen as her rival played with variations in her shots.
Adriana remained in commanding position from the initial stage and took a wonderful lead until the mid-game interval.
After the break, the local shuttler remained calm and positive on court as she showed no sign of confusion all the way to take the second set with a stunning difference of 21-5.
The impressive Adriana thrashed Paula in an authoritative manner by ending up the match in straight games with an incredible 21-4 and 21-5 score on the board.
