Adriano Galliani believes AC Milan need to be clinical
The vice-president of AC Milan Adriano Galliani believes that his side needs to be more clinical to win games.
The Italian was speaking after Milan’s draw with Ajax in the Champions League. The game finished in a 1-1 draw with Zlatan Ibrahimovic scoring Milan’s only goal.
Galliani was delighted with the efforts of new signing Robhino even though the Brazilian should have scored in the game.
"The Brazilian is a great player," Galliani told Sportal after the game. "He did miss a goal, but I believe he played a good game. He is still not at 100 per cent, but am certain he will reach his peak fitness soon, and he will help us a lot."
The vice-president believes that the referee decided the outcome when he called back striker Filippo Inzaghi who appeared to have a one-on-one with the goalkeeper.
"I don't understand why the referee made us take the free-kick again. We had Inzaghi free in front of goal with only the 'keeper to beat. This is a grave error, and it is a shame as we could have won the match. This seems to have been the decisive moment, and
this error has cost us a possible place in the next round.
Milan have bought a number of forwards this season with Ibrahimovic and Robhino joining the Rossoneri to score the goals needed to wrestle the title from Inter and to advance in the Champions League.
The out spoken Galliani believes that Massimiliano Allegri’s men will need to far more clinical when it comes to taking their chances if they are to progress into the knockout phases.
"Milan needs to start being clinical again. It needs to start obtaining results again, as we have the squad to do well. Playing well is one thing, but winning means more," concluded Galliani.
