The AC Milan vice-president has stated that there might be place for Mattia Destro in Milan’s next campaign, a player co-owned by Siena and Genoa at the moment.
The young Italian striker has raised a lot of interests for his exploits for the Robur, having spent a successful season at the club following his loan move to the club. The future of Mattia Destro has been up for constant speculation ever since the Serie
A season ended, with a host of clubs showing an interest in the striker’s services.
The 21-year-old striker transferred from Internazionale to Genoa. Genoa then loaned him out to Siena in 2011 after they had gained promotion through the tactical masterwork of Antonio Conte, who is now managing Juventus.
There was a clause in the loan agreement of Destro, giving Siena the right to buy 50 per cent of the striker’s rights. It was widely expected that the Robur would not be activating that clause this summer, however, they did activate the clause and now co-own
the striker along with Genoa.
This decision definitely irked Genoa President, Enrico Preziosi, who had stated in an earlier interview that his preference was to sell the striker to Inter Milan due to his good rapport with Massimo Moratti.
The AC Milan Vice-President indicated that they might be wooed into making a move for the former Internazionale striker. The AC Milan chief was quizzed whether there was any possibility of Thiago Silva’s move to Paris Saint-Germain going through, and Galliani
stated that there was no such possibility and continued:
“http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-c34888 Silva will stay at Milan and we might bring in Destro.”
The Robur’s President was quizzed what he felt about interest in the former Genoa player, he further went on to state that he would like to keep hold of his prized asset and mentioned:
“Milan are a great club, so their interest is not surprising. I would be honoured to keep Destro, as he is one of the brightest young talents in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926, but we know it would be tough.”
Destro scored twelve goals in last season’s campaign, with reported interest from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603, Juventus along with AC Milan.
