Adrianti Firdasari advances into Women’s Singles semi-final at Indonesia Open Grand Prix Gold
Indonesia’s in-form shuttler Adrianti Firdasari showed a remarkable performance and advanced into Women’s Singles semi-final after defeating her team-mate Rusydina Antardayu Riodingin in quarter-final contest at Indonesia Open Grand Prix Gold Badminton 2012
in Indonesia, on Friday, September 28.
The impressive Adrianti, who is seventh seed in Women’s Singles draw of the championship, showed up her incredible craft on court and managed to win the match in a completely dominating fashion.
Adrianti was in a different mood on court as she did not show any mercy to her lower ranked team-mate and eventually finished up the quarter-final battle in straight sets with a comfortable margin by taking just 31 minutes on court.
The un-seeded Rusydina, in the meanwhile, failed to continue her gallant run in the tournament as she had no answer to the planned and aggressive badminton of her higher ranked compatriot and crashed out without putting up strong show.
Both players started their impressive run in the first game by playing remarkable badminton but Adrianti showed better performance and took an early lead.
Adrianti employed all of her shots and pushed her lower ranked country-mate in all areas of the court. She remained in commanding position and eventually took a striking 11-6 lead until the break.
After the one-minute interval, Adrianti continued her marvellous run on court without sparing any chance for her opponent as she played with confidence and precision.
The in-form Adrianti did not face any trouble in winding up the opening game with a comfortable difference of 21-15.
In the following set, Rusydina gave a good fight in opening rallies and matched the speed and pace until the score reached at 6-6.
At this stage, Adrianti started to pace up rallies by taking the bird early from all areas and managed a comfortable lead of 11-6 until the end of first half.
In the concluding half, Adrianti did not show any inclination of slowing down the pace of rallies and managed to win the set with a lopsided margin of 21-14.
Adrianti emerged as victorious in this quarter-final showdown in just 31 minutes with a dictating 21-15 and 21-14 score on the board.
