Indonesia’s talented player Adrianti Firdasari delivered a phenomenal performance against Malaysia’s Lydia Li Ya Cheah in the team-event clash at Uber Cup Preliminary Round in Macau, on Saturday, February 18.
Indonesia thrashed Malaysia in this team-event battle with a completely one-sided 5-0 margin on the score board.
Adrianti, who is World Number 35 in the Women’s Singles world standings proved that she is on a different level as she showed no mercy to her young Malaysian opponent and won the battle in straight sets by taking just 30 minutes in the court.
Right from the initial stage of first set, Adrianti played aggressive badminton and did not drop her speed at any stage in the game.
She played positive and fast game and continued troubling her rival in the opening half of first game. On the other hand, Lydia failed to match the speed of her rival and remained trailing miles behind on the score board until the break.
After the interval, Adrianti stretched her lead by playing killing badminton. She missed no chance in earning points and remained in complete control. She ended the opening set in an emphatic fashion with a one-sided 21-7 score on the board.
In the second game, Lydia tried to play better game and also matched the speed of her rival in the opening rallies but lost her focus.
On the other hand, Adrianti took over the control of rallies and started to build lead. Until the break, she managed a comfortable lead against her confused opponent.
After the interval, Adrianti continued her killing run in the contest. Her perfect drives and powerful smashes spared no chance for her rival to put up strong resistance.
Lydia failed to find gaps in her opponent’s court and remained struggling to win points. However, her rival did not miss any chance to stretch the gap.
Adrianti was fully focused in the game and remained on track to end the second set with a remarkable margin of 21-13.
The in-form Indonesian shuttler won this Women’s Singles 30-minute fight in straight games with a stunning 21-7 and 21-13 score on the board.
