Adrianti Firdasari shows exit to Arundhati Pantawane in first round encounter at Kumpoo Macau open
Indonesia’s elite female player Adrianti Firdasari started her campaign in a dominating fashion as she sent Arundhati Pantawane packing in Women’s Singles first round at Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton Grand Prix Gold 2012 in Macau, on Wednesday, November 28.
The World Number 33 Firdasari, who is the eighth seeded player in Women’s Singles draw of the tournament, showed her hard-to-learn skills in the arena and stamped her mark over the lower ranked Indian challenger in just 34 minutes.
Firdasari started her campaign in a relaxed fashion but gradually increased her speed in all areas of the court and remained successful in winning the match in straight games with a convincing total on the board.
In the meanwhile, the un-seeded Arundhati gave a mouth watering fight in the opening set but failed to stay focused in the ending points and lost it.
Indian shuttler also played good badminton in the second game but not enough to stop her Indonesian challenger form grabbing victory in straight sets.
Firdasari delivered extremely well from the opening points of first set as she played with remarkable speed and took over the charge of rallies.
Indonesian player proved her top class skills on court by playing controlled badminton and remained successful in staying in good position.
However, Indian shuttler also played good badminton in the opening half and stayed close to her rival until the one-minute interval.
After the break, Firdasari put in extra effort and started to dominate the pace of rallies. She continued playing with consistency and managed to end up the set with a close margin of 21-19.
In the second game, the lower ranked Arundhati was again in trouble as she failed to find a good rhythm and remained struggling behind Firdasari at the initial stage.
On the contrary, Firdasari stayed fully focused in the arena as she played with wonderful speed and managed a reasonable lead until the break.
After the interval, the eighth seeded Firdasari did not show any sign of confusion at any stage and she easily wrapped up the second game with a good margin of 21-15.
The Indonesian shuttler stamped her mark over Arundhati in straight games with a reasonable 21-19 and 21-15 score on the board.
