I am a 30 year old female. Don't drink, don't smoke, don't take drugs.
For the last 2-3 months I have consistently awoke within 30 minutes to an hour of going to sleep. I am terrified of something- I'll scream, thrash, my heart beats so hard it feels as if I may have a heart attack. Sometimes I feel like someone is in the house and I'll wake myself up standing in my son's bathroom- or sometimes trying to get out side (thank god for my chain lock- it keeps me in).
If I settle back to sleep I'll usually wake up again within an hour or so doing the same thing. This can happen several times a night.
I'm starting to have bumps and bruises on me from this~ I guess from getting up in the night.
I even did this while camping (in one of the largest areas of wilderness in the east) with the family over the 4th- I was trying to frantically escape from our tent to rescue our puppy (don't have one). Can you imagine? I woke my Mom up and she was like Wtf?! What puppy?
My mom says that I was always really bad to do the same when I was a child- but why is it starting now?
Does this happen to anyone else?
No I don't have medical insurance- so I doubt I'll be going to the Dr. anytime soon unless it gets serious.
