Question:

Advanced Diploma or Standard? What do I need to get into a 4-year uni?

I've been going towards an advanced diploma every year in high-school, except this one (senior). I really don't think I'll do very well (or even pass) in Chemistry/Algebra II, so I am not going to take the classes to maintain an OK g.p.a. Will this effect my acceptance into an university? I've taken all of the required classes besides those two.

  1. depends on the college. To get into a good college you need to have 6 credits in math and science. So um, you should be fine with science (Earth Science, Physical Science, Biology) -IF you took those. For math it is usually Algebra 1, Geometry, AND Algebra 2. I would talk to your counsler. You could also take a class over the summer. I have heard they are easier, and you can focus your attention on one subject. Good luck!! =)

  2. That's definitely up to the university.  I would think that the Academic or Advanced diploma would look better on your transcript.  BUT!  A Regular or Standard might be okay IF you have a good ACT/SAT score and a good GPA.
