I live approximately 15 miles away from my Grandmother, she is crippled and heard of hearing too; today my Father called her and could not reach her, thinking she was injured or might have taken a fall, he calls me to dispatch up to her home as soon as possible; so I throw on some clothes and take off up there; I get there and she is fine. My question is, does anyone know of any telephone system, such as an intercom where I could beep in and talk to her over a speaker and then listen to see if she answers back? Or anything to the sort to save a trip if she just doesn't hear the phone.

  1. a couple ways to work this, one is a alarm system such as Link to Life, where they can monitor if someone hits a panic button. Another is a live feed Voice Over IP. You will need a full time internet access and a computer at her home. A video surveillance monitor system might be the best answer here.
