solve for x

1/5x(one-fifth) + 2/5x(two-fifths) = -6

simplify

8/2/3(8 and two-thirds)

please explain in detail how to work them. thanks.

  1. multiply whole equation by 5x....equation gets completely simplified.(.ie take lcm of denominetor and multiply with whole equation).then u can solve it

    8 2/3==(8*3+2)/3=26/3            

    or else find fractional value for 2/3 ie .66 add it to 8...ie 8.66

    for example if u buy 1 1/2 kgs of tomato then (2*1+1)/2=3/2=1.5


  2. ok well the first one you can add one fifth to two fifths

    that makes 3/5x=-6 then you can divide six by three fifths

    the easiest way to do this is change 3/5 to a decimal.

    1.66

    so six divided by 1.66
