I wonder though, have there ever been any real tragedies involving roller coasters and/or similar amusement park rides? I’ve never heard of any in the UK but maybe some of you might know of any, either here or elsewhere?

  1. see them faster than guys on cocain

  2. The only accidents i know of are where people have been dragged up by passengers riding.

Also a boy strayed onto a rollercoaster track and got kicked in the head by a rider and died

  3. It wasn't exactly a rollercoaster, but a water ride at Oakwood.

In 2004 a girl fell from the carriage and died because the ride didn't have sufficient restraints. It had a lap bar, but what it really should have had was shoulder restraints to ensure the riders were secure.

The ride is open again and now it does have the proper restraints.

That's the only one I remember hearing of.
