Advantages of Calgary?

Large city, lots to do.   1 hour from the mountains - skiing in winter, hiking in summer, beautiful scenery!

Lots and lots of jobs available.  

Disadvantages - housing is expensive right now but cooling off somewhat.

It's very, very easy to get a (Mc)Job.

Sorry dude, I got nothing. I'd never live there in a million years.  I guess the airport thing is a pretty big deal if you travel a lot.

It gets a lot of sunshine, and somehow it does make a difference in your mood.  Employment opportunites are better than in many cities, largely because of the oil industry.  It offers a lot of recreational opportunities, especially because of its proximity to the mountains.  If you like skiing, snowboarding, hiking or mountain climbing, you are close to some major parks that offer these opportunities.  Partly because it is a large city, it has a lot of restaurants and a vibrant night life.  Although the city itself is not scenic, you get a great view of the mountains from a distance.

One major drawback to Calgary is the sprawly layout of the city.  It encompasses a big area partly because it is built around a lot of gullies and hills.  The cost of living is high.
