Advantages of Wii Wireless Internet?

Question

I have 3 computers already. Are there advantages to having the internet on my Wii? A friend told me they got some old nintendo games through their Wii. Not sure where or how but is this something I could do with my computer or only through my Wii?

Thanks. Also I just got a Wii yesterday so any suggestions for a new player is appreciated. I have Wii sports which we love. I rented he house of the dead today. I can't figure out how to play 2 players on that game. Any suggestions?

Well I don't know much about the House of The Dead but I can tell you that it is an absolute must to get the internet hooked up to your wii.

There is probably about 80 percent more things to do with the internet than without.

-Send messages to your friends through the wii with the help of wii connect 24.

-Get updates from nintendo also with the help of wii connect 24.

-Use channels such as the news channel, the weather channel, and the wii shopping channel.

-Download old games on the Wii Shopping channel from platforms like NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis and more.

-Download Wii-Ware games from the wii shopping channel.

(I recommend Lost Winds)

-Download free channels for your wii menu like The nintendo channel where you can watch videos about new wii games and download demos for your nintendo DS.

-Send miis to your friends with the help of Wii Connect 24.

-play against your friends in games like Super Smash bros. brawl, mario kart wii, and super mario strikers.

-And of coarse much more to come!

So bottom line, do everything in your power to connect the internet to your wii.

As for any suggestions, I recommend Super smash brothers brawl if you like fighting games with all of your favorite nintendo charcters, Mario kart wii for a racing fan, and Super Mario Galaxy or The legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for an adventure fan.

if you want old nintendo games get an emulator. google it now! type something like n64 emulator or snes emulator. And then download roms. its free!!!!!!

Well having the internet on the wii isnt really an advantage because it takes longer to type and it goes slow. Getting old nintendo games on the wii is really waste because you can get them for free by downloading roms and emulators on your computer. Also the the news and weather channels are a real waste because you can just watch actual live news because it gives more information and its better to watch the weather on the tv also instead of the wii. If your gonna plan on playing wii games online its gonna be real hard because in super smash bros brawl its hard to connect, in mario kart wii you will get disconnected alot because of the poor servers.

So the wii  basically have the  worst internet cababilites i recommend using your computer for online and for your house of the dead problem press start before the game starts

NO!  everything you love about the internet isn't possible on the wii!

watching videos(on sites other than youtube), etc. and everything else.
