  2. Do you mean a central control like a PLC to replace a few temperature and pressure controllers?

    If so then there are a few factors.

    PLC have good control loops and displays where you can include all your switching and displays. You need spares for the display and PLC to ensure you have no long down times.

    If the PLC goes down the plant goes down.

    With individual controllers you can have only one unit down and make a plan with it. The problem is the wiring and panels get out of hand a bit.

    I would go with a PLC as the diagnostics on the software make it easy to fault find.
