Advantages of using both the U.S & Jamaican Dollar in Jamaica?

Question

Im from sunny ol' England and will be travelling to Negril, Jamaica in April for a couple of weeks.

I know the exchange rates for both the USD & JMD are pretty good at the moment and im thinking there might be some advantages to exchanging my £££'s for a USD:JMD ratio of about 3:1?

Any advice people?
