  1. Hey, I saw your question and I didn't find exactly the answer you wanted. But I copied and pasted this answer from the Adventure Scouts USA website.  I love that they're co-ed too.  Both brothers and sisters can join the same Scout Program.

"Our Scout Program thought it would be helpful to share some information about forming a team.

1 – Share information about our Scout Program with someone else who may also have an interest.  Information to pass on:

•We are about FUN and adventure,

•We are the only fully nondiscriminatory Scout Program in the United States,

    •We are co-ed,

•Our Scouts choose their own modern activities,

•Our Scouts do it all from basketball to backpacking, snowboarding to stamp collecting.

Share that you or your family is getting involved, you are interested in forming a team, and ask if they would be interested in our Scout Programs too.

Some examples of those you can share with are:

    •A friend,

    •A parent,

    •A neighbor,

    •A teacher,

    •A religious leader,

    •A co-worker.

If you do not know many people, sharing with them about our Scout Programs is an opportunity to meet new people.

2 – Identify a potential Team Sponsor that you think might be a good fit with our Scout Program.  Potential Team Sponsors are churches, temples, schools, parent teacher associations (PTA), parent teacher organizations (PTO), community and service organizations, government at all levels and businesses of long standing.

    Potential Team Sponsors can include:

•A church or temple you may be a member of,

•A community or service organization you may be a member of,

•A parent teacher association (PTA) or parent teacher organization (PTO) in your community,

    •A school.

Personalize the list according to choices available in your community.  If you have a list and do not know which would make the best choice, you can let us know at the national office, or exchange ideas here in the forum where all may contribute to and benefit from the discussion.

3 – Share information about our Scout Programs with potential Team Sponsors.

    Information to pass on:

•We are about FUN and adventure,

•We are the only fully nondiscriminatory Scout Program in the United States,

    •We are co-ed,

•Our Scouts choose their own modern activities,

•Our Scouts do it all from basketball to backpacking, snowboarding to stamp collecting.

Ways to share with a potential Team Sponsor:

•If you belong to church or temple, share with your minister, rabbi or appropriate religious leader about us and mention that you or your family are interested in participating and would like to suggest they sponsor a team of a Scout Program of Adventure Scouts USA.

•Share with a principal or a teacher at a school about us and mention that you or your family are interested in participating and would like to suggest they sponsor a team of a Scout Program of Adventure Scouts USA.

•Share with the leader of a community or service organization you belong to about us and mention that you or your family are interested in participating and would like to suggest they sponsor a team of the Scout Programs of Adventure Scouts USA.

We want to be of assistance to you so let us know the progress you are making so we can share it with others!

4 – Share information about our Scout Programs with potential new members.  Information to pass on:

•We are about FUN and adventure,

•We are the only fully nondiscriminatory Scout Program in the United States,

    •We are co-ed,

•Our Scouts choose their own modern activities,

•Our Scouts do it all from basketball to backpacking, snowboarding to stamp collecting.

Some ways to let people know about the new team that is being formed:

•Share with friends, including those who have children,

•Share with co-workers, including those who have children,

•Design flyers and posters and hang them where appropriate, such as at the meeting location of the team,

•Place an announcement in a local newspaper with day, date, and time of the next meetings,

•With permission of school administrators, hand out flyers and hang posters in schools.

This is easy and fun every step of the way.  First, we are here to help.  If you have any question, problem, concern, comment or need anything, just give us a call.  That is what we are here for.  You can also speak with your fellow volunteers in your community.  We are here until 8 pm Pacific Standard time (11 pm Eastern Standard Time) for your convenience."

  2. Hi,

I didnt know about "Adventure Scouts" until i read your question.  They are obviously a less known Scout Program in the United States.  After checking their web site, i like what I read and now im interested in helping them.  I really like their scout program is co-ed, which a lot of the world's scouts are also.

I also really like the "Adventure Scouts" dont discriminate in their scout and adult membership, unlike the Boy Scouts of America Venturing, BSA group the earlier poster mentioned.  By the way, looking over the "adventure Scouts" web suite all their scout programs are coed whereas the Venturing, BSA group mentioned earlier is the only coed group in the BSA.

Also "Adventure Scouts" get to do more real life things than just crafts or making a fire, so that seems fun.

On their web site is a contact us page. Here is the url link, maybe you didnt see it http://adventurescoutsusa.org/index.php?...

Since it looks like they are expanding, im sure they will appreciate help from others.  From my experience in similar groups, its usually easy to set up new groups, so i wouldnt get discouraged, if there isnt one in your area.

I would also suggest maybe talking to a friend and seeing if they like the idea, and then maybe the two of you could contact  "Adventure Scouts" together.

  3. Hello Lucy:

I'm not familiar with this organization, but did an internet search and found http://adventurescoutsUSA.org. The website is a computer memory hog, but found no links to any actual units. You will need to "contact" them in order to get this specific information.

If you are over 14, but not yet 21, the BSA has a co-ed program called Venturing, BSA. Take a look at http://www.scouting.org/Venturing.aspx if you are interested.

    Keep on Scoutin'
