Question:

Adventure with some relaxing honeymoon in late October / Early November?

I am planning on going on my honeymoon late October/early November. We would like a combination of relaxing (warm/beach) and adventure (anything that is moderately difficult). We are not so interested in some tourist activities (i.e. looking at buildings in Europe). We are concerned about areas that would be vulnerable to hurricanes during that time. We would like to spend at most $2,000USD/person. We have about 1 week's worth of vacation time to spend. We are traveling from the Washington, DC area. Does anyone know of a good place to visit that would leave us with enough time to vacation (considering we are leaving from the Washington, DC-area), money left over, and good balance between relaxing and adventure?

Thanks.

  1. I have a couple of suggestions

    1.  Fiji, Bali, etc.

You could stay a couple of days in hotel or you may want to rough it and stay in hostels (note, it is pretty common to find rooms for 2!)

adventures are trekking (hiking), or anything to do with ocean (snorkel, scuba, parasailing, sailing, etc.

    2.  Thailand

Tends to be one of the cheapest areas to visit.  You have a large number of "adventures"

one's I am familiar with (same sea adventures as above, elephant safari, great sightseeing, cooking schools, etc.

    hope this helps

  2. Ever thought about the Phillipines?  Just came back from my holiday of 15 days, and it was glorious, the Phillipinos are wonderful warm people.

Boracay is where "it's happening".  Live in a clean, comfortable room right on the beach, probably in area 2, for $90. per room per night, this does not include breakfast, but the food is soooo cheap, at night time all the restaurants open into a buffet....eating all u can eat from $10 per person including beautiful seafood.  Drinks are cheap and cocktails are potent.  Activities include scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, island hopping, banana rides, tube rides, flyfish for the strong and brave, hiring mopeds to explore the island, or just buying a big inflatable tube bobbing in the clear blue sea.  Party on the beach until 5am if u like

If u want something more romantic, more secluded go up north to Palawan...havent been there but the brochures speak for itself, and as i was travelling with my sister it made no sense to go somewhere so romantic..hahha

So fly into Manilla and then buy a direct flight (extremely inexpensive) with Asian Spirit direct to Boracay or if u want to go to Palawan i think Cebu Airlines fly there direct....

I'm cabin crew and have travelled most of the world except South America, im in love with india, indonesia and thailand but the Phillipines are now on the top of my list.

Hope i gave u an option, believe me its glorious....and not to mention the wonderful cheap massages u can have on the beach EVERY DAY!!!!! cause they only cost $8 for an hour..how wonderful, and beer is more or less $1, cant go wrong
