Advertising Major--?

Question

I want to go into the field of Advertising but many colleges do not have an Advertising major. I was curious of what major I should choose that would work for a career like that.

And if anyone here is or knows a Adv. major, please tell me about the classes. Any insight or information would be great.

Major in Marketing. Minor in Business.

I know that Michigan State has an advertising curriculim in Lansing, Michigan. I work in advertising in Detroit, and a lot of people come from there. I personally did a communications degree with a lot of creative writing, even though I work on the media side, not creative side. Business, Marketing or even English degrees would also be helpful. I would say it would be more important to get an internship at an ad firm while you are still in school then the actual degree that you get.
