  1. Hi,

Look the best way is that you find some youth magazine in your area and check how they are placing ads in it (size, placement etc..) then you go to the shopping centers and boutiques in the blocks where your newspaper will be distributed and check the possibility to have the shop owners publish their ads with you.

Put for yourself a target (financial Target) to achieve, then work according to that target. I think the school principal will be happy to help you if you suggest to him that he work-out the targets for you and that you convince him you will earn money for the paper.

Afterall this will help you become an advertisement agent on "little scale".

  2. I advertise in anything and everything that goes on in 14 high schools within a 5 mile radius of my business.  I spend a lot of money on advertising!  I'm in Ohio.

This is what I have found.  For the schools with a professionally run newspaper that comes out every 2 months the cost is $202.50 per issue for an ad that is approx. 3x5 in size in color.  There are 6 of them in my area that do this.

For the schools that do their own paper, the cost is $50-75 per issue unless the business will advertise in multiple issues and then the price is about 1/2 (this varies) for the same size ad.  If your paper is weekly the price is discounted very low because they want you to advertise all the time so they can count on that revenue.  I have one school that charged me $150 to advertise for the entire school year!

I assume you have a sports booster group and yearbook staff that both charge for advertising in program books and the yearbook. I would see what they are charging and use that as a basis.  Also, the businesses that advertise in these venues are the first ones I would contact about advertising in the paper!  They already know and support the school!

  3. Visit Reputed Advertising Company, in your City, engaged in selling space for Regular Magazines and Newspaper. Interview with them will give adequate idea about Discount and Rates, you shall fix, for school Newspaper.

After fixing Rates, you contact Stationers, Drawing Equipment, and Uniform sellers / marketing companies, in your City.

Complete, project can be provided on demand.

    With all the Best.
