Advertising help please?

I need some advertising help ?

If you like to help it would be appecitated. I am wanting to put a ad in the paper for house cleaning. I have a title " catching dust bunnies" cute huh? I will do commerical and residential. I'm trying to think of a catchy little phase.

Amy, I have a handyman business and I have found that advertising in the paper is a waste of money. First of all, you are spending a fair amount of money to reach a bunch of readers, most of whom don't need or want your service. I tried it a couple of times  with poor results.

What I did instead was to make up a nice flier on my computer. Take your time on this. It needs to be eye catching and professional. You can hand these out in the areas you want to work in. This allows you to keep business as close to home as possible as well as jobs close to each other. I buy plastic newspaper bags that I place the flier in with a small amount of pea gravel to weigh it down. I can produce 4,000 of these this way for about $180. I go to neighborhoods that have houses worth at least 300K and drop them right near the mail box. You can't put them in or on the mailbox as the mailman will want to charge you postage for each one.  

As far as businesses, you'll have to go to each one to distribute them. Anyway, you get the idea.  Try it, you might have more work than you know what to do with.
