Greeting..

I have 2 units SVC 4ohms sub and a 2 channel amp, what is my best wiring option?

I've tried hooked them up in parallel and bridged the 2 channel amp, played some boom boom.. and the amp heats up enormously after a short while(hand burning kinda heat!).. Anything wrong with that wiring? I assume that the amp is giving out so much heat when it's under heavy load... it doesn't looks right to me..

- Too much heat

- The power indication led dims whenever the bass push..

The amp is underpower?

Wrong wiring?

Not advisable to bridged with this configuration?

Regards,

  1. try running 1 sub on 1 channel for both channels

  2. Well, 2 svc 4 ohms subs in parallel will drop the resistance to 2 ohms mono. That being said, if your amp isn't stable for 2 ohms mono, then it will overheat and malfunction. Most good amps are stable for this. If it is stable you can wire it just like this:

If it is overheating, you should connect your subs in stereo. One sub to one +, - and another sub to the other +, -.

If it continues to have an issue, check your ground wire to see if you have a full metal to metal connection. If you do, you may have an issue with your amp itself or it is just simply turned up too much. Either way, you can always take it to a shop to get it looked at.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Rabb's right. I also have 2 SVC, 4 ohms subs wired parallel to present a 2 ohm load.
