Advice and opinions please!?

Hi everybody.

I'm redoing my bedroom and decided on blue as a color. It's an ocean/beach/seashell-like theme. My comforter is blue with dolphins on it. A few co-workers suggested that I paint the main wall in my bedroom (the wall behind the head of my bed) a dark blue and the other walls a lighter blue (all from the same trio). I've never really heard of that idea before but I think it sounds pretty cool. What do you think?

thats a good idea, or even paint the bottom 1/3 of your walls a tan color and the top 2/3 of your walls a lighter blue to give the illusion that you're on the beach. Or you could do stripes like this

That could look really good and will make that wall a focal point.  Since you are using tone on tone and not a whole different color the effect should be timeless.

Go to SherwinWilliams.com and select the color visualizer.  That will allow you to pick a room something like yours and then apply different colors to see what effects you like.
