Advice and recomendations appreciated. There seems to be a huge amount of agencies offering to take bookings for accomodation in Rome. Looking for an online booking for accomodation in Rome.

If you have an American Express card, their travel department can you help you and you'd be much more at ease since it's a reputable company.

Yes, there are lots of agencies doing so. But only a few keep to their words. I have booked my accommodation from http://www.romerents.com/ and found that they keep their words. They offered me the best deals.

What I do to select a hotel is to go to tripadvisor.com where I can read candid comments from real tourists about hotels. After I've selected a hotel I start with an on-line agent that I trust (Expedia or Travelocity). However, sometimes you have to go through a European agent or through the hotel directly.
