Okay, field day is coming up and I am on the Tiger Lillies' team. Our enemy is the Pink Panthers. I have some friends on the Pink Panthers' team and its hard not being so competitive.

Can you all help me?

  1. If you are a member of a team then you are working as a team and not as an individual. As such you are not working against the other individuals on the other team, but against the other team as a whole.

If your team wins you did not defeat the individuals on the team, but the team.

It is a team to team event. Not an individual to individual event.

In other words the event is between the Tiger Lillies and the Pink Panthers. Not between friends.

Do not let your team down, do your best and show your friends that you are as competitive as they are.

They will be working for their team, that's for sure.

    Good luck,

  2. It's up to you to be competitive.

If you choose to be competitive in nature, to win against others, then you will create obsessive monsters who will drive themselves beyond their limits to beat you. Then you will have to work yourself even harder to counter their efforts. It's exhausting if you get deep into the competitive spirit.

Equally, you can be creative and have fun. If you can get your team to mutually agree to have a creative and fun approach to a competition, you'll never over-exert yourself or your team and the bond of the experience will hold the team together better.

I had lost half my clan because my Co-leader created a super competitive team and it feel apart without the heart members who cared about the team and who played for fun.

There was more clan activity when the group was based on fun and creativity.

You can inspire with either creativity or competitiveness.
