  1. I recently went through a similar situation. I decided to cancel my Symantec subscription and sign up for AVG. It works very well and it gives you protection for a wide variety of threats (not just viruses). It does real-time threat checks as well as scheduled scans of the drives on your computer. It is relatively user friendly with very little user interaction if you set it up for automatic updates and scans. In addition to AVG, I use SpyBot to remove all spyware on my computer. (SpyBot is free) I also use TweakNow Registry Cleaner Pro to keep my registry files in order. (This is a purchased software, but it is a once-and-done purchase.) Tweaknow allows you to remove all registry errors (can be associated with the files removed with the prior two applications or defragmented registry entries.) If you use these three applications, it is likely that you will keep your computer virus free, while running at peak performance on the internet because you are completely removing all threats from your computer. Good luck!

  2. Congratulations on getting rid of Norton!  It's a horrible resource hog!

    AVG is good.

  3. Theres a realy good program called Trend Micro, it detects almost anything. Cant remember how much i paid for it, but it was cheap. The downside is it seems to be very very extreme on what it thinks is a virus and it blocks alot of things which arent viruses. Just giving you something to look into.

Also Norton has got pretty bad recently its not in the top Antivirus programs anymore.

  4. JUST DOWNLOAD AVG8.0  IT HAS IT ALL AND OTOMATIC UPDATE AT WWW.DOWNLOAD.COM

  5. I agree. I've been using AVG for 2 or 3 years and have never had any problems with it. It even checks the safety of websites when you use a search engine.

  6. i recommend choose this AVG Go to this website http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-F...

  7. avira antivirus-

  8. get bittorrent. and download a torrent from www.mininova.org.

    i recommend you:

    kaspersky 2009, ESET NOD32,McAfee,AVG.
