Question:

Advice for 17 y/o girly girl on buying a moped/vespa?

I'm 17 years old and I NEED a form of motorised transport! As I live in London, a car is out of the question, but I'm pretty interested in some form of moped or scooter. I'm in love with Vespas, theyre so cute, but they are WAY out of my price range. Mopeds are far more reasonably priced but I think they look manly.

Please can anybody tell me, is there anywhere, or any site, I can buy a DECENT vespa for a lower price? And if not, can anybody reccommend me a girlier moped?

Thank you!

  1. Our local Yamaha shop had a pink with flowers scooter my wife really liked.

With the gas the way it is, most dealers are sold out of anything good, and or cheap.

    Check all your local shops

  2. Check on your local Craigslist. http://london.craigslist.co.uk/mcy/

  3. Nothing wrong with a girl on a manly looking ride. I think chicks on Harleys and bigger cruisers are hot.

  4. You're in luck... there are several VERY Reputable manufacturers that make scooters that have a similar look to the vespa.  You didnt really specify if you were looking for a 50cc or a larger one, but i will give you a few examples to look at.  Take a look at the Kymco People 50/150.  It has a fairly similar look but they have 16" wheels which will make for a smoother ride.  Also look at the Genuine Buddy, and the Genuine Stella (a bit pricier).  These are both excellent scooters.  Finally, the SYM Mio and the Honda Metropolitan also have a look that you may like.  Hopefully that helps.
