Advice for House on main street?

We recently just purchased a home that is next to a main street. Any advice on what we can do to make sure the air is clean in the home?

You can buy air purifiers.  Sharper image sells one that doesn't have a filter that you have to replace.  I think I may have seen the same thing at Linens N Things.  Then there are some with HEPA filters but keep in mind you'll be spending money to replace the filters periodically.  Go to some web sites like the two I mentioned and Sears and wherever else you usually shop, even e-bay and look up air purifiers.  Also, you'll want to make sure to keep the filters clean in your furnace and a/c units.

Close the windows/doors.  Use good air filters.
