  1. i got a 69 GT-500 and i get decent gas mileages with theV8 5.7L and i get 21mpg in the city. you should get it all you really need to get good gas mileage is a good fuel filter and air filter.

  2. Lots of things to look at here. First, a '67 Mustang was a pretty good car. Second, it was a very popular car, and would make a good investment. You would always be able to sell it. And, since it was so popular, there is no problem finding restoration or aftermarket parts for it. Even now companies are coming out with sophisticated new suspensions for it. A 6 should be economical, but I'd go for the base 289 V8. The early 6 cyl. Mustangs had dumb 4-lug wheels. I wanted mags for my '66 so bad but all that would fit on it were stupid little 13-inchers. Look for as solid a car as you can find. Sure, you can replace every panel on a 'Stang, but it's better to start with a nice car. That 289 engine, by the way, is the same externally as the 5.0, so you could drop in a newer fuel injected engine and maybe get some better mileage. Good luck. I'm jealous.

  3. Do you want it because of the way it looks??

If so you can pick up a 6cyl for a lot less than a v-8 and have the same looks with better gas mileage.

Nice car for a 1st one...are you paying for it?
