i somehow finished it before school is going to start, so horray i guess. its a story about the only human being left on the earth (i know its been used, give me a break.) there are plenty of homes and stored food/water all around her so she never had to worry about that. anyway, there is this one part where i try to get real sentimental. i say because she is the only person left on the earth, everything she does is right, but at the same time, everything she does is also wrong. i don't know if it seems to corny or not, so do you think i should take it out?

  1. I like your premise.  I'd leave it in.  The one thing that I think would dovetail nicely w/ the plot is she starts talking out loud to herself--& to a dog or cat if you've left them in this new world.  Gradually she realizes she's not just talking about the logistics of living on her own, but questions of a more philosophical nature.  Then the critical moment for her comes when she worries she's losing her mind.  Think of the possibilities how she would come to a conclusion.  Maybe at the end of the book she spots a human figure in the distance, but has no way to get to him.

  2. It tells of whether "right" is more moral or to other's expectations. It answers the question as to what right and wrong is. Or does it ask the question?

But anyways, I think this is a really good idea! it really makes you think and it's not a brainless "my fair mistress" story. I think it's great and that you should edit it and then put it away for a couple of weeks and then come back and edit it again. It also helps to read it out loud. Good luck with your novel, and when it gets published, let me know so I can go get it! :]

  3. keep it. The argument is nice.

  4. Personally i think you should keep it in

  5. Leave it in - I can see the logic of the argument - it makes sense given the situation.  Also, she can only be the last human on earth if she represents everything that is human - the sentimental part will make it easier for readers to relate to her!  Sounds like a good story!
