Advice for a place to have a birthday party?

I'm turning 17 soon and I have no idea where to throw my birthday party. I'm in New York City. I'm going to have small amount of guests...about 4-6 people. And my budget is around $300. I want it to be fun and memorable :) Any advice would help. Please and Thank you!

Empire State Building? I went to NY for 5 days on a feild trip (I live in NC) and my favorite part was the Empire State Building. You may be able to rent out a building for ___ hours. Or you could have it in a resteraunt. I loved the food there.
