  1. Get those legs like tree trunks, good upper body strength and work on throwing the balance of the opposing prop off.  Leverage is everything..it also helps to not shave on game days...a little sandpaper on the face hurts and tape those ears!

  2. Eat more meat pies and drink more beer.

  3. well... if ur coach says your gonna b a prop then you probably already have a big build...

to be a great prop you need to be strong and tough..

try gettin your muscles bigger...especially you neck muscles as these will help you in the scrums...

be as agressive as you can...

make your first tackle the biggest....

  4. You need to be big, bulky, heavy and strong.

You should try and increase muscle mass in your neck particularly as this will help prevent the inevitable neck injuries you will get.

Also you need great strength in you legs (to drive forward in the scrum) and in your shoulders and arms (to support the hooker in the scrum and lift the second row in the lineout)

So basically you need to do weight training. But make sure you maintain a good level of stamina as well.

  5. As they said about the muscles...

Also remember to bind on to the hooker and other prop as tight as you can in the scrums, and get a low body position (with a straight back) early.

That is really the only prop-specific advice i can give! ;)
