Advice for an aspiring graphic designer?

I'm going to be a senior in high school and I'm interested in possibly pursuing a career in graphic design after I graduate. What schools do you recommend? Preferably either in North Carolina or around Dallas, Texas. Any other advice is appreciated.

Research schools in those areas and see if they have graphic design as a major. Most major universities will have it. The Art Institute of Dallas is supposed to be a great school, but its also very expensive, (about 25k).
