Question:

Advice for changing strings on a guitar?

I'm gonna replace the strings in my guitar soon(Ibanez RG5EX1, strings are Berkely Jimi Hendrix reg) but I don't wanna mess my guitar up. Is there something I should do to the strings first, like stretch them(or boil them)? Also am I supposed to take all the strings out and then replace or do it one at a time?

  1. First, replace each string one by one and tune then them to pitch.

Then continue changing and tuning to pitch. You can start with the 6th string as this is the standard procedure.

Whatever you do, DO NOT BOIL THEM. We used to do that for bass strings a while back.
