  1. We are doing the same thing.  My plan is to research magazine articals on best places to raise a family, check out job pay and availablilty on monster & in local newspapers to those cities, google the weather & schools & go to realtor.com to check local home prices.  Then narrow it to 3 places & spend some time traveling to those places.  Then pick which one we want & save up to move.  To do it responsibly will take probably a year but will likely be more succesfull & with 5 kids in tow we have to be extra careful in what we do.  Let me know what kind of weather, jobs, & things you are looking for maybe I could share some insight from all my research.  It is amazing the time wee live in where we can find ANYTHING we want to know on the internet.

  2. move to florida! the keys, key largo florida!! i love that place

  3. My husband and I did that about a year ago and are looking into doing it again. I am a stay at home mom, so it is easy for me, but my husband posted his resume on Monster.com and other sites and waited to get an interview. He set up all the interviews in close succession and went up (Ohio from Florida) and did all the interviews in one week. He stayed in a motel and did some house hunting as well. He got a job and we found a month to month apartment. We moved up about three weeks later. It worked out perfectly.

Now we are thinking about moving again (better job market in other states) and are going through the same process. It is pretty easy if you are organized and willing to make a few sacrifices for a little bit.

In the long run, if you get a better job, live in a better neighborhood, and have better schools it is totally worth it!!!!

  4. i have been wanting to do the same thing as you!  the question i would ask you would be if you and your partner already had a job that offers relocation so you can keep what you already have.  many jobs do offer that just ask!  it could help narrow your search down on where you want to go!   i also hear that Arizona is building up with new places and jobs are easy to find!  i have been looking into that!  but if you are able go on-line and look up job openings in the area u want to move and then go visit it to look for a house or get a Realtor to help find a place for u!   good luck with everything!
