Advice for giving cat medicine?

I have a cat with an upper respiratory infection. The vet prescribed Clindamyacin. I use a needless syringe to give her the medicine. She was taking this with no problem for the first three days. Now she's caught on to me and she promptly spits the medicine all over. I've tried wrapping her in a towel etc., but it hasn't helped. Thanks in advance.

I would continue to use the syringe, but hold her by the scruff of the neck where it opens her mouth.....then hold her mouth closed rubbing her chin which will make her swallow.  Hope this works for you.

Ok, I'm pretty heartless when it comes to giving my cats meds.  I pick mine up and set them in the comfy arm chair and place my against them so they are trapped and can't move, I maneuver the syringe into the the back of the mouth (so it pretty much squirts directly down their throat) and then just squirt it all in there.  They spit out what gets in their mouth but most of it goes down their throat.  Then I lavish the cat with praise about what a good kitty he is, and give him tons of kisses and carresses so he connects taking his medicine with getting lots of extra love.

lose the towel scruff her by the back of the neck and squirt the meds in the back corner of her cheek, small amounts at a time so she has to swallow it, sometimes blowing in her face will make her swallow as well

Clindamycin tastes awful.  Keep using the towel method and try to get the meds further back in her mouth.

Maybe you should try getting some can food for cats and putting the medicine in the food and mushing it all together

Try to get it back further into her mouth, but not so she aspirates it into her lungs.  She may spit some out, but most will get to where it needs to be.  Blowing in her face or rubbing her chin will invoke the swallow response.

Your problem is common, and frustrating.
