We own and operate an auto transport business, he does the hauling and I take care of dispatching and administrative issues. Sometimes the stress is overwhelming and we take it out on each other.

Need advice from other couples who are business partners.

  1. Take some time off alone and together.

  2. I know from owning a biz with my sister, plus with my parents owning their own, the real problem is trying to seperate your personal life from your business.  You might just instill some rules in your house that you cannot discuss business at the dinner table or in the bedroom (you can have a notebook to write down things to discuss later).

I have talked to people in family run businesses that hired someone to come in and consult on how to run the business more effieciently and keep everyone from killing one another. . . I wish I would have written down the names of agencies used.  It seemed to work for the one person that told me about it!

    Good Luck!
