  1. It depends on your height. The taller you are, the higher you should throw the ball. Just strike the ball with your racket head down. If you don't, it will go flying somewhere you do not want it to.

I'm a beginner too. It all takes practice. You'll get the hang of it.

    Good luck!

  2. Try joining your highschool tennis team. That's what I did. You want to use your left hand to lightly toss the ball into the air above you and use your right hand [w/ tennis racket] to hit it over the net, left side of course. it just takes a lot of practice, but you'll get it.

  3. The very first thing you should do is get down the toss. For a flat serve (which is what a beginner should be doing) should be tossed slightly in front of you. Practice just tossing the ball until you can consistantly get the same toss over and over.

After you toss the ball get the racket back (until it touches your spine). Try to hit as high as you can. Make sure you pronate as well.

    The rest is practicing!

    Good luck

  4. k

    when u serve just relax

btw if u are working on serve master ur 2nd serve first make sure ur 2nd serve goes in constently now if ur working on ur 1rst serve u want to put alot of power n spin

also it depends on wat grip u use but anyway throw ball high up in the air then jump n try hitting the ball at the tip of racquet so is its like a smash

this is how i serve but i use continetal grip so its flat if u se eastern grip its the same thing but throw ball a little more sideways

bending ur knees is also important  n in my opinion u shoiuld jump also try standing like a foot away from the middle of the baseline that somwtimes helps

  5. Hi guy,

I was 16 when I first started playing tennis and now I'm 17 and have just the answer you need. As someone stated above, it is a good idea to join your high school tennis team (if there's time) because the coach could teach you the best way to do it. If not, try joining a club.

When I joined the team the most important thing to learn was the serve as it is key to the game. To get started, stand where you are supposed to. If you're playing singles (or going to play singles), stand closer to the middle of the court. If you're playing doubles, stand closer to the alleys so you can get more angle. It is important to practice your toss. Everything you do in a serve must be aligned with the net post of your hand dexterity. If you are a right-hander, align your feet to the right post (or vice versa, lefty-left post). To get this down, put your raquet at your feet and see the angle they both make. Move a foot forward or back so that when you point your raquet it points to the post.

Next, practice tossing the ball straight up. The toss is very difficult to master, so be patient. Extend your left hand TOWARDS THE POST and throw the ball straight up. Let the ball go when your hand is at eye level. If the ball goes back, forward, or in  another direction, catch it and try again. It is important that it goes straight up so that you learn it right (different serves may have a different toss though). Keep your left hand up for a while. A few seconds after you start your toss, bring your right hand (with your raquet) behind you and as the ball starts to come down, swing the raquet at it (making sure the raquet is also pointing towards the post). Dont stop there, follow through with your raquet (after you hit the ball).

There you go, this is how I started to learn it and my serve is now a powerful weapon. It takes a LOT of practice, so don't be discouraged if at first it goes out, it hits the raquet frame, you miss the toss, or miss the ball as it comes down. Practice timing too. Remember, pull your arm up as you are hitting the ball and pull it down as you follow through. This will give you an idea about how high to toss it too.

I hope this helped and it that it was clear. Good luck improving your serve and your game!

  6. your small for a guy. All the advice i can give you is dont end up like s**y Rafa`s serve lol Y`know Nadal would win matches sooo much easier if that serve of his improved he is such an amazing athlete, the way he strikes the ball, the shots he comes up with, the angles, the topspin, the way he picks his trousers :P :P :P Rafa is the BEST!
