I'm starting nursing school on the 20th and I was just wondering if there were any nurses/nursing students out there that could give me some helpful advice to get me through my first semester. I'm terrified! Thanks in advance!

  1. it's not all easy and you have to study hard.  if you want to be a nurse because you think you will look cute in a uniform don t do it, if you want to do it for the money, don t do it.  you really have to think about care and compassion for people.  Alot of patients are not like your friends.  some are not the cleanest and smell bad.  And with the ever changing insurance plans it can be discouraging.  I started nursing over 15 yrs ago and the paperwork has tripled.  but on the other hand when someone thanks you and calls you by your name because they remember you for kindness or something you have done to help them then there is nothing more rewarding

  2. my sister's a nurse and to get to the point it's hard work. be prepared for long shifts with placements, but just keep your head down, work hard and it'll be worth it in the end! (she jus got a promotion)

  3. 20,000 sign up bonus... stick with it.. good luick

  4. first days would be fine.. but you need to read a lot in nursing.. advanced reading to be exact..

you should also have good study habits..

    goodluck! :)
