Advice for sleeping in hotels?

I forgot how dirty they can be until I looked up some stuff on hotels here today.

Is it true that most hotels wash only the pillow cases and bedsheets when guests check out? I was thinking of bringing my own blanket, pillow, and bedsheet LOL.

I also heard about hotels having a bed bug problem...

The frequency of washing sheets depends on the hotel.  Most of them do it every day.  What they *don't* wash is the cover, which is why I always strip it off the bed.

i bring my sheets everytime i go to a hotel. same with pillow and blankets! i am soo disgusted...and don't use the comforter....they DON'T wash them evrytime new people come in...hope i helped...and deffinatly bring YOUR sheets blankets and pillows :]

Do not use any cups in the room unless they are the disposable plastic ones. They generally wash glass cups/mugs with glass cleaner which can be very toxic if ingested! I'm not sure about what they wash and what they don't in terms of bedding, but it should be fairly safe anyways, as the chances of them catching and holding onto harmful germs are the same as getting sick from any other source.

Depends on the hotel the larger more expensive ones are pretty clean.

But the cheap ones will do whatever they can to keep cost down.Ask them to change your bed covers when you check in most hotels will,if they say no then you need to go somewhere else.I always ask to see the room first and if I want to stay I ask to have it cleaned before I check in,and watch while they clean.

This is no joke to make you look bad when you go to hotels,Ive only had 1 hotel to tell me no.and yes it was a cheapie  most want your stay to be pleasent so you'll recomend or stay with them again.

Nice Hotels put clean linens on the bed and pillows when you check out. I don't have a problem with that. I don't wash my sheets everyday at home, why would I have a problem sleeping on the same linens I slept on the night before.

I think that most nice hotels are cleaner than peoples homes. They are cleaned everyday and the bathrooms are much cleaner.
