  1. A 40 chanring and 34 largest rear sprocket should be more than enough to climb any hill really. Get a smaller chainring and you'll end up not even moving when you pedal.

Seriously, just learn how to competently climb hills and stop spamming this site with the same question, the same question, the same question, the same question, the same question, the same question, the same question, the same question, the same question, the same question, the same question, the same question, the same question, the same question, the same question, the same question....

  2. you have 14/34 rear and 40 tooth front.

that's what determines your hill climbing gears.

There is nothing lower in the back 34 is the biggest you can get.

So you have to change your front chainring to a 36 or 34 for a 10% improvement.

Ask what that will cost.   they should do the labor for free maybe.  talk to the owner.

this will lower your top speed.

    lighter tires might help some.

    good luck

  3. You could get a 36 tooth cog for the back with proportionally smaller cogs.  Your smallest cog will be 14 teeth.  Next, get a triple crankset with a high of 48 or 46 teeth, and that will make things easier for climbing.  You will also have to replace the chain. The problem is, it might cost as much to do this as just buying another bike, say $200.00 or more.

  4. you have to replace the front crank with a system that has three gears as opposed to 1. then you need the shifter and derralieur. you are looking at $150 or so with the cheapest components. check ebay to save some money

    hope this helps
