My mother has just about 70 days sober. She has been an alcoholic for god knows how long, but we've been aware of it and dealing with it for the past 3 years especially.
She used to drink an entire bottle of vodka a day, at least. She was addicted to vodka and wine. That was her drink of choice.
She goes to an outpatient rehab which seems to be working for her. But the problem is she's buddy-buddy with all the other recovering addicts.
Ever since she started going, she's been addicted to non-alcoholic beer. You know, the O'Douls c**p you can buy at the supermarket?
I could understand that if she were addicted to beer and was polishing off 27 beers a day in her alcoholic days, but she wasn't, she was drinking vodka and wine, never beer.
she's so impulsive about it. I'm not sure how many she drinks a day, but as soon as she runs out she runs to the store to get more.
It concerns me.
It's as though she hasn't learned to deal with the impulsivity at all. And it's so unhealthy, she's already overweight and she keeps chugging them down.
Any advice or imput?
