I really want to start showing my Welsh Section pony and my miniature shetland pony. Any advice wanted on what the handler should wear, how the horse should be turned out and just general rules and techniques! Also what classes should m two ponies be entered for? The Mini shetland is a piebald so could he be entered for a colour class or is it best to stick with classes for minis?? All advice welcome!!!!!

  1. for you it doesn't matter what style you wear just be neat. depending on the height of your welsh section pony you can enter pony classes and miniature or pony classes for your mini depending on what classes they are offering. i would try color with your mini. make sure that they are clean and their mane and tail are brushed out  and you have a halter that fits them and is really clean

  2. This site might help you...

    http://lpph.org/showmanship

I know it applies to western showmanship but the movements should be the same.

Maybe type in your browser...Pony or English Showmanship to see if that will bring up any sites for you.

  3. ok well i dont know what type of show you want to go to but as a for a open show these are sometimes some of teh classes they offer.

    Showmanship ( Your age group)

    Showmanship Open

    Showmanship Colored Horse

    Halter (Your age Group)

    Halter Open

    Halter Colored Horse

    In-Hand Trail (your age group)

    In-Hand Trail Open

    In-Hand Trail Colored Horse

theres probably more but those are teh oens i can think of.
