Any advice would be appreciated - has any one stayed at Oasis? What was your experience? I would also like some ideas for attractions - locally.

  1. Senor Frogs is a MUST!!

    Jet ski/snorkeling combo was fun.

    Enjoy your trip!

  2. I recommend that you take tours that can last a half day, if you are looking to do things locally. You can take a swim with dolphins with Dolphin Discovery on Isla Mujeres, jungle tour snorkeling and a swim with whale sharks which is only offered during the summer:

Other tours to the Mayan ruins will last a full day, as well as trips to the area eco parks of Xel-Ha and Xcaret. You may wish to do a self guided day tour of Isla Mujeres, especially after you do a swim with dolphins there. You can also and should visit Centro, the area known as Downtown where the locals live. You can walk around, safely, in the neighborhood around Palapas Park, and I highly recommend you stroll around the restaurants and cantinas on Yaxchilan Avenue. If you want to check out a list of other tours offered in the Cancun area, here's a great place to get you started:

Keep in mind that you will not only find better prices when you book tours in advance, online, but you can also find rescheduling and cancelation policies, something you will never find offered at the resorts. Just read the fine print and you should be able to find excellent Cancun tour deals.

Have fun planning your vacation in paradise,
