Advice needed for tax claim?

I have worked all my life since leaving school i am now 44 and i have never received a tax rebate,at work i am in a personnel plan that cost me £8.10 a month that entitles you to discounts with dental,opticians and car buying etc.In the new book i just received there is a personnel taxation service in there that fight to see if you are en tilted for a tax rebate it all looks above board and you receive every 60p in a pound would you attempt that or stay clear.Thanks in advance sorry if its a bit long and boring

  2. On no account use one of these services. if a tax refund is due to you, you can deal with it yourself.

    Just because you have never had a tax refund, it does not mean you are due one. Instead, I would congratulate you on always paying the correct amount of tax - it is better to owe the taxman than have him owe you.

    The personnel plan you mention is not tax deuctable. There is nothing to stop you wirting to your tax office and asking them to check your liability for the past 6 years (the furthest you can go back) and send you a statement of tax due.

  3. The Revenue hate dealing with these claims, not because you get a rebate but because you don't get the full rebate. You are better contacting the HMRC direct and arranging an interview to discuss your tax affairs. They don't bite and will not charge anything. Take your latest P60 as well
