Advice needed: male homeless hostels in cardiff, uk?

male early 30s, single.

soon to be homeless needing advice on homeless hostels in cardiff, uk

-how many to a room, do they sleep?

-is the bedding changed every day?

-are there secure locker rooms, where i can can my stuff to prevent it being stolen?

-are the showers block showers, or do they have physical dividers?

-how clean are the showers and toilets? no mould?

-how preachy, how micromanaging are the hostel workers?

-do the hostel workers talk down to the homeless?

If you are physically or mentally unwell, go into your local authority offices and ask to see the social workers there.

As you are 'soon to be homeless' my best advise is to actually go and take a look at a couple of hostels and speak to the staff their about vacancies or how you can be referred on to them.

A lot of hostels are on a day to day basis, you turn up, if there is a bed available, and if you pass their entry rules (no alcohol in a dry hostel for example) then they may take you (or may not).

As you have some time, wouldn't you be better trying to contact your family and friends and see if you can sleep on their floor whilst you sort yourself out or get a live in job, like a waiter in a hotel.
