Advice needed on attending school in London?!?

what are the steps i need to take in order to go to school in england? im from the usa and i want to spend a semester of high school in london staying with a few friends and my parents who are not citizens but will have a vistors visa for several months. is there anyway i attend school there? do i have to become a citizen?

p.s. i dont want to go on a study abroad program.. i have a place to stay and i don't want to go from family to family. please HELP!

  1. if you're in the country (legally) then you're entitled to attend school so that's not a problem

    your best bet would be to contact the education office of the local authority you will be living in ... the people you will be staying with should be able to give you the address but if they can't put something like "schools" and the name of the town into Google and you should be able to figure it out from there ... you would need to tell the education office your age, where you will be staying, how long, etc and say that you would like to attend school ... by the way we call schools for children aged 11 to 16 secondary schools and aged 5 to 11 primary schools ... hopefully the education office can tell you which secondary schools have vacancies and help you make arrangements to enrol at the school ... if you have any preference on which school you would like to attend (do your friends have any recommendations?) you could also contact the school direct with the same information and request
