Advice needed on getting to Costa Smeralda from Alghero?

Hi, I have to fly to Alghero airport but can't drive and need to get to Costa Smeralda by either boat/train/coach or bus? Please help if you know how long these take and what is the cheapest/best option? Thank you

Costa Smeralda is located in the North east part of Sardinia, if your flight is landing in Alghero your best option would be to either rent a car right in the airport and cross the island by car till you reach Costa Smeralda or take an airport shuttle between the two. Distance is about 150km more or less which can be done in a half a day.

I come from Itally,exactly from Sardinia near costa Smeralda. If you want go there,you can go by airplane from Sidney to Rome with Cathay Pacific company or with E-Dreams and then from Rome to Olbia in airplane too with E-dreams or Meridiana. Then you can take a car. But Costa Smeralda is very exspansive,but if from Rome you go to Alghero with Air One I think is more beautful to visit.
