  1. when you move a pregnant about-to-give-birth livebearer into a tiny "hatchery" the stress of the move, the small confines, and the exposure will lead to stress, birth complications and death of either the mother or fry or both. chances are the stress killed her and the fry were aborted/born too early.

in future do NOT move the mother into this hatchery, once the fry are born you can scoop them up out of the main tank and move them over the hatchery. have dense plants in the tank like java fern to protect new fry before you catch them. mothers want to hide away when they give birth, not be in full view of everyone and everything.

  2. Good god I though molly was a person then for a moment.

You should have said 'my fish molly' !!!  lol!

Maybe it was the fact you moved her - fish don't like to be moved, I'm sure especially not when they're giving birth!

    RIP molly
