Advice on T-Reg Clio 1999?

Question

Ok so my car hasnt been starting and i had things like the battery changed, crank sensor changed (i think thats what it was called. So then i found out it could be the immobiliser so someone said when turning the key press the button on the fob while doing it...so did this and it starts the car. Now my question is what is the fault could it be the immobiliser or the fob? or both? any advice really???

its the fob ,when you press the button when trying to start it,it re-mates the key...my vectra did it all the time.try a new battery in the fob.
