ok im very new to the car scene, just bought myself a second hand renault clio (03 plate) and im looking to put a good sound system in the car. It came with a factory fitted cd player so i should be getting a new cd mp3 head unit and well because i have no idea yet about what i should be looking for im hoping you guys can point me in the right direction for a good sound setup. Im working with around £500 maybe a bit more for the whole setup but i dont mind if you lot post stuff above my price range as long as its not ridiculously high

Thanks

  1. If you just want a simple system with nice bass and do not want to spend a lot start by purchasing a aftermarket head unit that has a built in HPF(high pass filter). If you get a head unit with a HPF you can use it to power your smaller door&deck speakers without interference from bass and you would only need one amp for the subwoofer/s. Make sure the head units HPF is for the speaker outputs, some only have HPF for the RCA outputs. I buy all my car audio from ebay, you can not find lower prices.

To sum it up you need a head unit, amp, subwoofer and a amp wiring kit.

I bought a Alpine head unit, 4 gauge amp wiring kit,1000watt Crunch amp and  12" Kicker sub in box all from ebay for under $500 U.S. dollars shipping included.
